Beats and Grind - Charity Cricket Fundraiser
Catford coffee connoisseurs Beats and Grind have announced a charity cricket match to help raise funds for Catford Fridge with locals encouraged to ‘come down and enjoy a nice afternoon of cricket plus help out a worthy cause.’
The event is being organised by Nav, the owner and founder of coffee van Beats and Grind, which he describes as “a small, local business with community at its heart.”
“We have always strived to support those in need and offer a space where everyone is welcome, whether that's for a coffee, a chat or just to come and chill.”
Beats and Grind have recently started a social cricket group which has “led to some great connections, friendships and networking.” The formation of this new group also led to the idea to do something for the community as the cost of living continues to rise.
Funds raised by the event will go to Catford Fridge, a non profit, zero waste community fridge run by local volunteers. Catford Fridge provides weekly surplus food parcels to roughly 75 families in the community who struggle with food insecurity. Read more about the work of Catford Fridge here.
The Beats and Grind XI will take on Brockley CC on Sunday 11th September from 12pm. To support the team and see out the summer in style head down to St Dunstans Sports Ground for an afternoon of cricket, food and drinks.
